OK, firstly, I really like these pants. Used for work a few times and they have worked well.
I have been looking for some work trousers that fit somewhere between a multi-pocket work (site) trouser and jeans for inspection work. I do not use these trousers in a tactical or such role but carry out inspections of all sorts of old, abandoned buildings, in cellars, roof spaces, so need hard wearing trousers that can work with you. I also carry a lot of small tools, flashlights, steel tapes, laser measure, so need to carry and get at my stuff. The fashion industry steals leg cargo pockets idea and puts them on everything it can but rarely produces anything that is actually useful. These trousers work well for me.
I am 5’ 10” have 36” waist and a 29” inside leg, so getting the right leg length for me is never easy as the term “short” varies so much between different manufacturers. I bought 36”/30” leg. Thee fit me well if a tad long but in tall 9 eye boots they are fine. The elasticated waist band works well although I always wear a belt. The extra wide belt loops are good for hanging anything heavy, there are 7 loops in total, with the side loops and centre rear being narrower.
The fly zip is a decent length, why to trouser makers pinch pennies with short zips that leave you struggling to “get out” when you really need to? The zip here extends down far enough to be comfortable, although the zipper pull is small.
The material is a good weight but might be too hot in summer months, the cut is loose but not silly baggy. There are knee pockets for pads, these are on the inside and side load not top or bottom, so you cannot easily remove pads while working. On the other hand they are not likely to come out just at the wrong moment.
Front and rear pockets are deep and the rear slash style make for easy entry, the thigh pockets are low but at the right level when sitting, driving or on a plane. The single “mag” pocket on the left thigh is what it is, it carries a Samsung J5 no problems. There are wears strips on the main pockets where tool or flashlight clips would wear the material and all pockets close with small strips of Velcro. Not used the pocket strap on the rear right pocket yet but often fasten stuff to me with short cords so I don’t drop tools when at height, so may prove useful.
I got OD Green, to me they are more green that a dark olive green but fits well with foliage green and tans.
Minor Negatives:
A little long for me but I knew they would be
The cotton canvas does not slide easily when crouching
All in all, a good comfortable fit with pockets that are useful and do not look too “site trousers”.
Not had them long enough to determine long term quality.

Very satisfied, been buying 5.11 before in other stores. This one surprised me with very quick international delivery free of charge.
As for 5.11 pants, there is really not much to say except their quality is great.

The 5.11 Tactical Cotton Pant - Black arrived in good time and in good condition. The size was exactly as described, and I find the fit very comfortable. The product represents great value for money. I had previously purchased a similar pair, and been very pleased with them hence this purchase. Well recommended.

I really struggle to find cargo trousers in my size and whilst I don't need a magazine pocket these are great quality and have loads of other pockets too.

Amazing trouser, and an even better service.
Working in the police, means I need a robust pair of trousers that can offer everything I need from knee pad inserts and correctly sized pockets.
Also! The top smaller pocket now fits an iPhone!! - RESULT!

As an IT contractor need comfortable & hard wearing pants as can be crawling about under desk's and moving kit, these fit the bill perfectly. So good these are my second pair. Ability to add knee pads a plus (and when in invisible). Highly recommended.

I've owned 3 pairs of these for years (in Tundra green) and they've lasted amazingly well.
They're comfortable, a good fit, and hard-wearing. I've worn them camping, walking, working under the car, and for installation work and they have survived without a problem!
Definitely worth the investment, I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a comfortable, hard-wearing pair of combats.

Bought these on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Hard wearing good pocket layout and sizes. Hardy material, and well proportioned for moving around. I use them for work and occasional camping and they haven't let me down yet.
